WINEAHRT GOES SEOUL
救崇 窍技夸! - Hello and good day,
The first international exchange of wine and art between Korea and Germany took place in Seoul and will continue in 2011 at the Ahr.
The opening on April 30th was a successful beginning. More than 200 guests attended the opening night at the cultural center Yeoksam1, including the German Ambassador Dr. Hans-Ulrich Seidt and the President of the German-Korean Chamber of Commerce Jürgen Wöhler, who were welcoming the guests and organizers. The CEO of the Korean Tourism Organization, Charm Lee, held a speech about cultural exchange between Korea and Germany.
After the opening speech of organizer and initiator June Chan Park, many interesting contacts were made on both sides. The visitors' response was surprisingly high, although unlike in Europe, the popularity of wine in Korea still has room for improvement. On the subject of wine many promising contacts concerning wine import and tourism could be made.
Thus, the area surrounding the Ahr region is to expect visits from South Korea in September. Meanwhile, several Ahr wines were left for degustation with Korean wine importers. Therefore, it will remain very exciting what will happen in the medium term.
As a first conclusion, it can well be said that the subject of wine and art will create new links between the cultures, and bears great potential on many levels. Artistically, culinarily and ultimately of course, economically.

WINEAHRT GOES SEOUL
The first international exchange of wine and art between Korea and Germany finds its beginnings in the small but well-known wine-producing Mayschoß. At last year's studio exhibition "wineahrt", June Chan Park, CEO of the Korean company dlex international visited the "Felsenatelier" of Rainer Hess.
Inspired by art and Ahr-wine, he planned an exhibition on the subject of wine and art with German-Korean exchanges. Tim Hippmann and Rainer Hess initiated the basic organization in Germany.
The German Embassy in Korea, the Goethe Institute, the International Wines & Spirits EXPO and the winery Meyer-Näkel and the Winzergenossenschaft Mayschoß-Altenahr support the initiative in Seoul.
